My workplace decided to make some changes to
the way we do business. It started with
the issues we were having with clients.
Sometimes it simply is not worth dealing with people that make your work
day miserable. Getting extra business or
a larger bonus is nice, but if it means having to deal with actual bad human
beings to do it, it's simply not worth it. So we decided to cut ties with lots
of bad clients. The original loss in
sales was a bit troubling, but we found a few things out. People who we like to do business with and
who enjoy doing business with us paid a lot more money. So what we ended up doing was showing
appreciation to all our great clients and wanted to send them regular gifts to
show our appreciation.
At first we started small by just getting some
regular shipping boxes from a staples or office depot and put our company
merchandise in it. It’s a little bit fun
to get a hat, a mug and some random stuff from a company you work with. We figure the individual can use the shirt
for working out or let's face it yard work.
The hat and mug are just fun. But
what we noticed is that the box seemed to feel a little cheap when we taped it
up for shipping. These are clients we
really like so it got us to thinking maybe we need to step up our game.
We took to the internet and found that there
are actually companies that specialize in custom boxes. We figured this existed and knew that
packaging companies existed, but we found out that they cater to the smaller
companies as well. We were able to
purchase shipping boxes that were
branded and looked sleek. So our next gifts which actually included precious
medals would be received with actual excitement.
Another item that we had to actually step up
was the tape on the packages. It really
is the small things that can make a difference.
So we decided to purchase some branded tape and also some high end clear
packing tape. The cheap stuff we picked
up from amazon was not clear or if it had streaks in it. I neve would have thought that streaky
packing tape would take the look of a box from hero to zero. So don’t be afraid to shop around and find
some really cool supplies on your next work appreciation gift.
